A new television show about 4-wheeling, On the Rocks is set to air on The Outdoor Channel Monday nights, prime-time starting January 7, 2008. This weekly 30 minute reality-based program introduces viewers to the sport of off-road driving through a combination of challenging four-wheeling feats and picturesque trails of the back roads throughout America.

On the Rocks is the creation of Coast Media Teleproductions, in Orange County, California. Executive Producer/Director, Art Royce explains, “The primary goal of the show is to get more people to understand that the trails need to remain open and protected for the generations to come, not from them.” On the Rocks allows the viewer to experience four-wheeling through the eyes of every generation, from a four-year-old and his teenage siblings to his great-grandparents.
Each show follows members of the “Dirty Thirty,” a family-friendly group of Jeep and truck enthusiasts that share a love for the outdoors, as they lead viewers into river-carved canyons, over enormous boulders, all in the name of adventure and preservation. The “Dirty Thirty” is comprised of people from all walks of life, each with a unique personality and an intriguing story about what got them hooked on this unusual sport.

Viewers will see the “Dirty Thirty” overcome the challenges and enjoy the adventures of four-wheeling in some of America’s most scenic back-country. Both exciting and informative, this show will enlighten the audience about the value of respect for the environment and how to protect our vanishing natural resources. Many of the drivers are involved with trail clean-up and various environmental projects.

Trail boss, Rick Russell, a well-respected and long-time advocate of off-road driving, hosts weekly technical segments that demonstrate and explain such topics in plain English as choosing the best tire size and how to use a winch. These tech segments help new 4-wheelers learn how to set-up and use their vehicles like seasoned off-roaders, increasing safety while minimizing the impact on the environment.

Coast Media Teleproductions is a full-service studio located in Orange County, California, consisting of: a 40’ sound stage, audio recording and music composing studios, eight digital edit bays, computer graphics and animation studio, plus a full array of cameras, grip, lighting and support equipment.
